  • Drive in Theaters

I love movies and more importantly I love watching them at drive in theaters.  There is something that is so much fun and rich about experiencing a movie at a drive in theater.  The closest one to me is still an hour away but when I can make the trip I love to.  You can’t beat it anyways because you get two movies for the price of one ( three movies during a special event like Halloween horror movie night ) and you can bring in your own food and drink ( depending on the location.)  The one I go to plays the sound through your FM radio so I there is no speaker box to clip on but it is still fun.  I encourage everybody to experience this once in their life.  Check here http://www.driveintheater.com/drivlist.htm to see if there is one nearby.  Maybe there is and you just don’t know it.  Live a little and see what it’s like to drive up to watch a movie.

  • Birthdays

You ever try not to get excited about your birthday but as it gets closer you can’t help it?  I am turning 26 tomorrow and I cannot help it now.  I realized something though.  As embarrassing as it is you can’t help but want people to recognize you on your birthday.  when I was part of the helpdesk I would get a card signed by the team, cake, and usually a food day ( everyone brings in a dish to celebrate and you have a great feast ) but ever since I was re-orged out of the Helpdesk that has all gone away.  I noticed it on Friday the most because no one said a thing.  No card, no cake, no happy birthday.  Now I am 26 working in a real job for the first time in my life so I shouldn’t be so let down but it is an adjustment.  Heck my old team leader from the helpdesk even sent me an e-mail wishing me a happy birthday.  I haven’t had him as a team leader since January but he still remembered.  It completley made my day.

So for all of you out there who get embarrased when people make a big deal about your birthday…enjoy it.  Enjoy it now because what you don’t realize is that it won’t last forever.  Soak it up while you got it because there will come a day when you miss it.
