  • My Scariest Nightmare - The Uninvited Contest

My Scariest nightmare is something that is easy to remember.  You don't forget the ones that wake you up sweating and screaming.

I was walking around the mall but no one else was around.  It was eerie as it appeared that all the stores were open and there was light everywhere.  I turned a corner and there was a line of guys walking towards me in a menacing manner.  I turned around and tried to get away.  I was able to run unlike in other nightmares where everything moves in slow motion.  However as I was running away everything went black. It stayed black for some time and when I was able to see something again I was back in the mall but I did not feel like myself.  I felt more like a third party external viewer, removed from the whole thing, and yet I was drawn to the trash can.  Inexplicably I could not look at or go anywhere but to the trash can.  As I got next to it the lid flipped open and inside was my body, chopped limb from limb.  On top of the bloody, gory, carnage that used to be me was my head and the face that shown was a terrified horrific image.   Half of my face was cartilage and bone with the mouth twisted in a disgusting fashion that I would later see again in " The Ring ".

To me there is nothing more terrifying then to see yourself dead.  In this case not just dead but mutilated and there was nothing you could do about it.

  • that was scaryyy :O lol

  • i've "died" in my dreams twice.

once a gang-banger got me execution-style after I thought there was no way he'd follow me into a clothing store at the mall out in public. I was hiding behind some clothes hanging on a rack but he capped me real good in the head. multiple times. that was weird.

the other time I was running on one of the decks on a multi-level cruise ship. I had no where to go really seeing how we're out in the middle of the ocean but I was trying to get away. anyhow and all of a sudden, a sliding glass door dividing two halves of the deck opened and I saw several dozen ninjas ready with their ninja stars out. I skidded to a stop and tried to turn around but as I was in mid-twist, the entire right side of my body up and down got hit up with ninja stars. it was red.

    but nope, I'm still alive.

  • Wow.  That's scary.  *shivers, and not in a good way*

  • @slamjoe - Those are some wicked dreams.  That one with the ninjas sounds freaky.

  • @mo_chic_for_jesus - yeah it freaked the heck out of me.  I had so much trouble getting any more sleep after this dream.

  • Wow, scary, I dream of walking around without a top on, and with my chest, you'd understand the fear in that -

  • I've died in a dream before. Violently. And I've fallen in a dream too, and hit the ground before I woke up. All those dream "meanings" are kind of ridiculous.

  • that's pretty horrifying.. especially since you have an image I could compare it to. That movie gave me nightmares for almost a year, and that particular scene was one of the MAJOR reasons why.

okay, I'm not getting any sleep tonight! :(

  • oh man, totally creepy!

  • That is terrifying and extremely scary.  I bet you didn't sleep anymore that night, huh?

  • I have had some dreams where I almost die. and very similar  ways of it happening.

  • I had a dream where I ended up dead, but I was awake during the part of the dream where I actually died.  It was weird.

One night I dreamed I was a medieval knight, riding out to battle, but I woke up before the battle started.  The very next night I dreamed they were carrying my body back to be buried.  My point of view was from inside my body, I could see the mourners standing over me and putting flowers in the casket but I couldn't speak or move.

Kind of creepy and weird, but not really scary unless maybe you have a phobia about being buried alive (which I don't.)

    Yours was MUCH worse.  Yikes.

  • @calypso19 - Doesn't it always freak you out to see your dead body?

@boethos - Your dream still sounds pretty cool.  On the plus side you didn't have to watch yourself die.  I didn't either which makes me wonder if anyone has ever seen themselves die in a dream.  Interesting...

  • Wow, that is a pretty freaky dream!!!

  • maybe it's only if you watch yourself die in the dream that you die in real life.

  • I've had dreams when I die....But you DON'T ever see yourself die do you?Pretty interesting if you ask me....
